June: honoring dads, grads, and summer fads!

June marks the beginning of summer celebrations. A relatively recent holiday, Father’s Day—which became a national observance in 1972 and falls this year on June 21—is set aside to honor the men whom we hold dear to our hearts. And while college graduations abounded in May, now high school graduation announcements as well as wedding invitations have been mailed. So how do we commemorate these special people in our lives?

Fauquier County is fortunate to have a plethora of businesses ready and willing to help you celebrate dads, grads, brides, and grooms and to prepare you for summertime activities. This month, we travel to four local establishments that will no doubt be of service to area residents: Carter & Spence, The Grapevine, Rankin’s True Value Hardware, and Tom Frost Firestone.

As in years past, the Discovery Publications staff will be off to enjoy a few weeks of summer, but we will be back in July just in time for the next issue of Discover Fauquier’s Values. Arriving amidst the sun and sultry weather, it will hit mailboxes on July 31, filled with summer news, views, and savings!
