November: thankful for those who give back

With the holidays knocking on our doors, many of us take time to think of those less fortunate. Whether we make donations, shop for disadvantaged families, or visit people in need, it’s the time of year when we should all be thankful for what we have and for community organizations that give back to local families.

This month, we are pleased to introduce you to several dedicated members of the Warrenton-Fauquier Jaycees, a group that has served the community with open arms for over 50 years. The Christmas Toy Workshop—one of their most important annual projects—commences this month and will assist in making the holidays special for many area families.

As you begin your holiday shopping, remember to shop locally, and be mindful of those less fortunate by supporting local organizations that give back to our community. Look for the next issue of Discover Fauquier’s Values—the last one of 2008—on November 28; it promises to bring plenty of holiday savings and cheer!

Reaching out to them during the holidays—with cards, letters, and gifts—is a tradition, as is worrying whether our greetings will reach them by a certain date. We’re delighted to introduce you to a few members of our phenomenal Northern Virginia postal system district. They work diligently for us every day of the year and even more so during this very busy season. You’ll be amazed by their accomplishments!

The crisp autumn air is so invigorating—it will surely put a spring in your step when you look for the next issue of Discover Centreville, Clifton & Chantilly’s Values. Filled with holiday magic and cheer, it will warm up your mailbox on December 5.
