5 Reasons to Read our Discover Paper
![]()
United we standThe seasons pass quickly. It’s hard to believe that this month marks the 10th anniversary of what has become known simply as 9/11, an event that forever changed us—in some ways, believe it or not, for the better. Instead of ripping us apart, it brought people together, giving “commUNITY” a more true and pure meaning. Here in Fauquier County, we are proud of the individuals, service organizations, and businesses that continually strive to strengthen community ties, and we’d like to salute four of them: On the Run Sports, The UPS Store, Cold Stone Creamery, and Fauquier Hearing Services. The Discovery Publications staff gives thanks for all who are part of our community—teachers, firefighters, police officers, farmers, business owners, and you, our loyal readers, and we hope you will join us in expressing your gratitude for all you deem important in life. And of course, we invite you to find out more about the best in our community by reading the next issue of Discover Fauquier’s Values. Look for it on September 30. |

Shop at Home, Save at Home Feature:Score a game winner at On The Run Sports! The shop specializes in a variety of sports gear, especially soccer, which has a huge following in Fauquier County. Providing equipment that enhances hearing is the name of the game at Fauquier Hearing Services. Pack it up and ship it out with confidence at The UPS Store in Warrenton. Their exclusive Pack and Ship Promise guarantees items arrive in the same condition they were in upon leaving the original destination. Have a scoop of freshly-made ice cream from Cold Stone Creamery. It takes two freezing processes totaling 10 hours to make the delicious flavors. |

Our format is an easy-to-read traditional style tabloid newspaper. Ads are designed in-house and editorial features pertain to the businesses and communities we service. The messages in these advertisements and features are pertinent to the entire month resulting in a long shelf life.
¼, ½, ¾ and full-page ad units are available. Marketing messages appear in crisp, uniform, reader-friendly units…with no “lost ads”.
To ensure reader interest, each publication has such features as “The Travelers” (our featured people/business/community organization) for the month, Business/Community Profiles, Focuses on Business, Feature Articles, Business and Community in Action (local news) and Bulletin Boards that list information on local events.
We have the lowest cost per thousand of any direct mail publication currently serving Fauquier, Western Prince William, and Fairfax counties, with access to over 114,733 homes for less than a penny per household.
Advertisers get a multiple market discount when using the same ad, or an ad with minor changes, in more than one of our publications.
Advertising/Marketing Consultation to Promote Business
Our Account Executives provide FREE marketing advice to advertisers through monthly visits. This includes determining what to promote, taking necessary photos, assisting with writing copy and providing images to produce an effective ad. Our Business Writers compose informative articles free to our advertisers to showcase their businesses within the community.
In-house Graphic Designers work closely with both Account Executives and advertisers to create ads with accuracy and attention to detail – AT NO ADDITIONAL COST. We personally oversee the final production of our papers at our commercial printer to ensure the best image quality.
“Whether you would like to promote your business within your own community or would like to grow your business in neighboring communities, we have marketing services to fit your needs.”
