September 2011
United We Stand

The seasons pass quickly. It’s hard to believe that this coming weekend marks the 10th anniversary of what has become known simply as 9/11, an event that forever changed us—in some ways, believe it or not, for the better. Instead of ripping us apart, it brought people together, giving “commUNITY” a more true and pure meaning.

Here in western Prince William County, we are proud of the individuals, service organizations, and businesses that continually strive to strengthen community ties, and we’d like to salute three of them: Eden’s Natural Market, Persnickety Cakes, and Pizza NY Margherita.

The Discovery Publications staff gives thanks for all who are part of our community—teachers, firefighters, police officers, farmers, business owners, and you, our loyal readers, and we hope you will join us in expressing your gratitude for all you deem important in life. And of course, we invite you to find out more about the best in our community by reading the next issue of Discover Manassas, Haymarket & Gainesville’s Values. Look for it on October 14.

If you’re unfamiliar with the fabulous taste of pizza baked in a brick oven, you’re missing out! Pizza NY Margherita invites you to stop by to try it today.

Discover a broad variety of natural foods as well as organic milk at Eden’s Natural Market. The staff at Eden’s note that it is important to provide as many foods as possible from nearby vendors to support local businesses. Also, see some gorgeous orchids that fill the attached greenhouse.

You can certainly have a range of choices when it comes to Persnickety Cakes, which rotates about a dozen different flavors of cupcakes at a time.
